Travis GOP and COVID-19

Some important notes regarding
upcoming activities and COVID-19 responses

*County/SD conventions to reconveneOut of an abundance of caution regarding the spread of coronavirus/COVID-19 and in compliance with local, state, and federal rules and guidelines, we are doing what we can within state party rules to reschedule convention business. As such, Senate Districts 14, 21, 24, 25 met briefly on the originally scheduled date at Great Hills Baptist (3/21/20) and then immediately declared the meeting adjourned to reconvene on May 30. On May 30, the temporary chairman of each SD convention will again gather at Great Hills to reconvene to another date to comply with Austin and Travis County ordinances. Visit The Travis County Conventions Site for the new date when announced.

As many of you know, our County Convention takes place every two years. The convention is comprised of four Senate Districts conventions -- SDs 14, 21, 24, and 25. Sometimes these conventions meet separately and in other years we meet together for a unified program and separate business. We have determined that this will be one of the unified convention years despite any setbacks.

Updates on committee meetings, etc: All updates will be posted to our Conventions Site at

It’s a reasonable response to delay the conventions.
